چکیده

We derive the exact dual representation of the bosonic Hubbard model which takes the form of conserved current loops. The hardcore limit, which corresponds to the quantum spin1 2 Heisenberg antiferromagnet, is also obtained. In this limit, the dual partition function takes a particularly simple form which is very amenable to numerical simulations. In addition to the usual quantities that we can measure (energy, density-density correlation function and superfluid density) we can with this new algorithm measure efficiently the order parameter correlation function, 〈aia † j〉, |i− j| ≥ 1. We demonstrate this with numerical tests in one dimension.

Disorder-Induced Superfluidity in Hardcore Bosons in Two Dimensions

We study the effect of disorder on hardcore bosons in two dimensions at the SU(2) symmetric “Heisenberg point”. We obtain our results with quantum Monte Carlo simulations using the directed loop algorithm. In the absence of disorder, the system has no long-range order at finite temperature due to the enhanced symmetry. However, the introduction of a disordered potential, uniformly distributed f...

Quantum simulations of the superfluid-insulator transition for two-dimensional, disordered, hard-core bosons.

We introduce two novel quantum Monte Carlo methods and employ them to study the superfluid-insulator transition in a two-dimensional system of hardcore bosons. One of the methods is appropriate for zero temperature and is based upon Green’s function Monte Carlo; the other is a finite-temperature world-line cluster algorithm. In each case we find that the dynamical exponent is consistent with th...

The Stochastic Green Function (SGF) algorithm

We present the Stochastic Green Function (SGF) algorithm designed for bosons on lattices. This new quantum Monte Carlo algorithm is independent of the dimension of the system, works in continuous imaginary time, and is exact (no error beyond statistical errors). Hamiltonians with several species of bosons (and one-dimensional Bose-Fermi Hamiltonians) can be easily simulated. Some important feat...
